ICM Foundation CIC
We provide personal develop and towards independence projects that helps to support healthy lifestyles and promotes personal development, especially in building confidence and communication skills. If you are looking to move on from college, away from day services and towards greater independence then our two projects are for you.
At ICM Foundation CIC we run an NOCN Level 1 Diploma in Creative Media and Sports Leadership at our centre which means we can give qualifications and certificates for everyone who joins our programmes.
There are two projects we are running now.
They are both level 1 qualifications in Health and Wellbeing. The first course is Creative Media and the second course is Sports Leadership.
The course groups are small and you will be with up to 7 other people in a group. Each qualification could take you either one or two years depending on whether you attend for one day a week, two or three. Working together in small group’s means you get to make some new and lasting friendships.
Places on the qualifications are on a rolling programme so this means if there are no vacancies you can register to enol on the next course intake.
We provide individualised support for all of our trainees and tailor what we do to meet everyone’s specific needs and interests. We are guided by our trainees and regularly ask “What are we doing right?” “What do we need to do differently?” Our trainees play an important role in deciding what we do and how our service best meets their needs.
Using the Community
We are often going out in small groups, with support, to visit other services and take part in other workshops, events and activities and to make full use of the different services within Tower Hamlets and within London. There are lots of different community settings that we go to build on the learning of new skills, particularly around independence and using public transport. So, not all of our courses and workshops happen at our building or in one place. You get to learn about and visit new and different places and meet new people.
All necessary equipment for the course is available. We have experienced and trained staff to support you.
You will need to arrange your own transport or get support from your Social Worker, family or support service to attend our projects.
Lunch – we are a healthy eating centre and promote healthy options for lunch. We have free tea/ coffee and juice available each day and fruit. Trainees usually bring in their own lunch each day.
