NOCN Level 1 Diploma in Creative Media
We offer young people and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities a supportive but challenging programme that aims to develop a range of life skills that can lead to potential further training and possible employment. Some of our members have progressed onto supported employment programmes.
Creative Media program runs a newspaper project, and as part of that we are developing a blog and vlog, as well as providing opportunities to develop personal, social and independence skills in a safe and supportive environment. As a trainee, you will build your confidence in using digital technology, such as cameras, computers and audio equipment through practical experiences. You will also develop your creativity using a variety of 2 and 3-D media, such as paints, clay and other materials. We also run regular workshops and invite other groups in to our centre to look at different topics, such as being safe in the community, and how to do the things we want to do in our lives.
We also support our trainees to maintain and improve their physical and emotional health through a variety of movement activities, games and sports as well as being active out in the community.
We work closely with other organisations and groups within the borough to run different events and activities, such as creative workshops, fun games and going out on trips, such as bowling.
