Social Welfare Advice
The Centre’s social welfare advice provides support with debt, housing and welfare benefits advice both at the Centre and in local venues including Children’s Centres, GP Practices, housing providers and Community Centres. We use our recognised holistic and integrated approach to meet both the needs of local residents and housing providers and training and employment organisations. Advice is delivered through a range of statutory contracts including LAP 6 in the North East cluster, Generalist Advice, Tower Hamlets Health and Advice Links, Local Links, Information Advice and Advocacy (IAA) as well as local housing providers, to support tenants to avoid rent arrears and eviction and sustain their tenancies.
The Service delivers advice 5 days a week, 48 weeks a year with 3 days a week drop-in advice and 5 days a week of appointment-based advice and telephone access available weekly. This is delivered from 12 different venues across LAP 6, a similar service is provided by Account 3 in LAP 5.
