Somali Carers Outreach & Support Project
The carers project provides a variety of support on welfare topics, billing enquiries and referrals to specialist agencies. The project runs twice weekly support group sessions, at which carers can come together to share experiences, socialise and learn about care duties in a safe environment.
In addition to the work carried out at the Centre, the project also facilitates outreach services to ensure we reach people who are unable to visit the Centre. A programme of regular home visits enables us to assess carers in the comfort of their homes and enables us to better understand and assess strategies to address their physical, practical and emotional support needs.
Carers Advice Sessions provide information on Carers’ rights, Welfare Benefits and information on other available services for Carers in Tower Hamlets. Sessions are run Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm
We also offer health & wellbeing workshops and drop-in sessions
