Look Ahead - Hopetown Hostel
Hopetown is a 118-bed women's hostel in Tower Hamlets.
This service provides 24-hour support for homeless women of all ages, including 16 and 17 year olds on a case-by-case basis. The hostel contains 99 bedsit rooms, each with their own WC and shower, shared kitchen facilities between a cluster of five. In addition to this, there are 19 self-contained flats in a separate part of the building. A small number of the beds form an assessment centre, where women may stay in for up to 28 days whilst their housing and support needs are assessed. This includes two emergency beds to facilitate the accommodation of rough sleepers. There is also a complex needs section of the hostel, where support is delivered by a specialist support team.
The hostel supports customers with a large range of support needs, including women involved in sex work and those with alcohol or substance misuse issues.
The overall aim of the service is to prepare people for independent living and a move to independent accommodation.
