Daniel Gilbert House
This 87 unit building for single homeless people is situated just off Brick Lane. The building is split into three self-contained blocks - Field House (24), Station House (21) and Daniel Gilbert House (DGH) main building (42).
This building has been extensively refurbished over the past 2 years which resulted in the reconfigeration of all rooms into bedsits and flats which encourages the development of more independent living skills, through cooking and budgeting.
The building works have also produced lifeskill hubs throughout the scheme. On a weekly basis a range of group sessions are delivered including job clubs, yoga, art sessions and benefit advice to name but a few. The scheme and services aim to lift the aspirations of all those who enter DGH and provide motivators for change.
The 24 hour onsite support team include a dedicated meaningful occupation worker who is supported by PRHA's Specialist Services Team. This combination of excellence, in one-to-one work with individuals as well as providing a wide staff skills set across the scheme is one of the key factors in ensuring successes for each of our residents.
Referrals to this scheme are accepted predominately through the Homeless Options and Support Team. The client mix is approximately 6:1 men: women and the scheme has a very ethnically diverse group of residents.
